Reminder: Pack Winter Camping Trip: Forms Due 6 Feb The Pack's Family Camping trip will be held on March 14, 15, and 16, 2008 at Camp Saffran at the Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation (BCMSR), located in Harford County, approximately an hour and a half north of Crofton. It is recommended that each Den or Cabin establish a local meeting location for Friday March 14th and depart from that location for BCMSR no later than 6:00PM. It is also recommended that each driver in the group exchange cell phone numbers prior to departure.Registration: The cost of this year's camping trip will be $25 per person. $15 of this money will be returned to the Dens to purchase food for the weekend. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, February 6th, 2008. You must have the completed registration/permission slip and fee turned into your den leader by this date. Initially, registration is open only to scouts and adult guardians. Each scout is required to be accompanied by an adult guardian who will stay in the same cabin. We may have additional space for siblings and if so we will conduct a second registration wave after February 10th.

Blue & Gold Banquet - Saturday Feb 23, 6-9PM PACK 731 Celebrates the CHINESE NEW YEAR at Crofton Elementary School on 23 February 2008 from 6 to 9 PM! Pizza, salad, chicken nuggets, Italian Subs and Cake will be served. Please bring your own beverages.Please R.S.V.P. and remit $5.00 (per family) payment to your Den Leader by February 15, 2008.

Track Safeguarding OpportunityDear Pack 731,

We have a golden opportunity for someone to save the pack some money and be one of Pack-Man's favorites ;) We are looking for someone to take on the honor of safeguarding the Pinewood Derby track. Andy Russell has provided a home to the track for the last couple of years and has finally allowed someone else to do it ;) Seriously though, thank you Andy.
The good news is....... I have seen the track and it is not as scary as one might think. I have taken the measurements and they are as follows:
The track is in a box measuring 97" X 24" X 6". The accessories are in a box measuring 32" X 18" X 7". There are also a couple of 10 or 20 lb weights that are separated from the other boxes. Not too bad.
So, if you can take this on, please contact anyone on this year's Pinewood Derby Committee: Mike Byers (mlbyers@hotmail.com), Tom Phillips (tcpiv@comcast.net) , or John Panek (john.panek@ngc.com).

It's coming up THIS SATURDAY at the CES cafeteria! Race times are:
Web II: 9:00am
Web I: 10:00am
Bears: 11:00am (note this was mistyped in the Winter newsletter. The correct time is 11a)
Wolves: 12:30p
Tigers: 1:30p
Top 3 finishers from each rank race off for the pack championship: 2:30p
Please be prompt.
Remember, to race you MUST bring your car to weigh-ins THIS Wednesday or Thursday anytime between 7:00-8:30p at 1604 Turneys Ct. (Chapman Farm) . Your car will be inspected to make sure it meets racing specifications and held until race day. If you're not sure if your car is up-to-snuff, come on Wednesday. That gives you a day to fix it if you need to.
