Changing of the Guard

At the Blue and Gold banquet last Saturday, Pack 731 had a turnover of the role of Cubmaster. Andy
"Pack-Man" Musliner turned over the responsibilities to Ass't Cubmaster Roger Hansen.
Andy has been a dynamic "Leader of Scouts" over the past few years and his energy and creativity will be hard follow but the entire Pack is looking forward to what is in store for the Pack with Roger at the helm.
Roger can be reached by email at
cubmaster@croftonpack731.org...please email him at anytime with ideas, wishes of luck, and offers of help!

Camp Tomahawk Registration Now Open!
See the previous posting about the registration for Camp Tomahawk - our summer day camp! Registration is now open!
(Sorry I forgot to put in the title on the last post).
Hear ye, hear ye! Inviting all Pack 731 lads, lassies, lords, and ladies to a fantastic week of Camp Tomahawk day camp! Registration is now open.
This year, the Cubs of the Round Table will lay siege to the Anne Arundel Fairgrounds during the week of July 14-18. (Please note this a DIFFERENT week from in prior years).
Camp Tomahawk is ye nationally certified Cub Scout day camp for boys entering 2nd through 5th grade (entering ranks Wolf through Web-II). Featuring... archery, BBs, crafts, fishing, outdoor games, Scout skills, science and nature, whittling, wood burning, special activity stations, opportunities to earn thy rank achievements and belt loops, a special evening for Webelos, songs, skits, jokes, coups, and fun!
Registration starts online this year, forsooth. Just follow these steps:
1. Go to http://www.vogelweb.us/thecapitoldistrict/CT_2008.htm
2. Click on what type of registration thou wants to complete (adult volunteer, camper, optional tagalong, or optional youth aide) to download the registration forms to thy computer.
3. Print out ye forms.
4. Complete both pages of each form, attach a current photograph to each form, and write a check for camper registration.
5. Deliver ye forms and check to Pack 731's Tomahawk registrar, Claire Spencer, at 1609 Twigs Court in Chapman Farm. She will put a Rubbermaid bucket with lid at her front door for camp registrations.
The deadline for Early Bird registration (with discount) is March 3. The deadline for regular registration is in April.
All ye campers MUST have an associated adult volunteer for at least one day - that can be station staff, den leaders, adult assistants, camp set-up, and/or breakdown. Adults, please consider volunteering all week – ye camp needs thee. Pack 731 must supply at least one all-week volunteer for every six Scouts registered, so start planning thy vacation time now. Note that an all-week volunteer position can be “split” between two people if necessary to accommodate work/vacation schedules. Note also that the adult does not have to be a parent - uncles and grandparents can volunteer also. All camp den leaders, staffers, and youth aides will need to attend a training class in June. If you can't make camp, please consider set up or break down.
The Tag-a-long child-care program is available for siblings when the parent is volunteering at camp. Tags must be potty-trained; age-appropriate activities and snacks are offered. There is also a big-girl Tag program for older sisters, which functions more like the boys' dens. It's geared for older sisters -- in the 9 to 13 year range. They form a den like the Cub Scout dens and rotate with the Webelos, so they're doing archery, BBs, etc. just like the boys. New this year, one Tag-a-long is FREE for all-week volunteers.
If thou hast any questions about Camp Tomahawk, do not hesitate to contact the Cubmaster at cubmaster@croftonpack731.org, Asst. Cubmaster at asstcubmaster@croftonpack731.org, or the Committee Chair at committeechair@croftonpack731.org. Questions about registration should be addressed to Claire Spencer at tcspencer@comcast.net. Avaunt, ye Cub Scout Knights, and sign up nowe!
